Legend of the Four Thieves
During the years of the Black Death (The Plague), some people found ways to avoid infection using various herbal remedies. Four robbers (thieves) from Marseilles protected themselves from illness while stealing from the dead by using a blend of herbs extracted with vinegar and combined with olive oil. Eventually the thieves were caught. Faced with the sentence of death, they were promised leniency, but first, they had to divulge their secret. Of course, the robbers quickly revealed their herbal secret. Today, 18th Street Soap Company brings you an essential oil blend that utilizes the once secret formula of the Four Thieves.
